Corrections Policy

Media Grid UK (mediagriduk.uk) is committed to correcting errors promptly and transparently. As an independent UK digital news publisher owned by Sliema Media Limited, we hold ourselves accountable to our readers and maintain a formal corrections process overseen by our Standards & Fact-Checking Lead, Oliver Reeves. Every correction is handled by a dedicated team, and material errors receive an explicit correction note so readers can see what changed and why.

Who is responsible for corrections at Media Grid UK?

Oliver Reeves, our Standards & Fact-Checking Lead, oversees all corrections at Media Grid UK. He works alongside the editorial team to verify reported errors, ensure the original article is updated accurately, and decide whether a formal correction note is needed. The Editor-in-Chief, Jonathan Pierce, is ultimately responsible for publication decisions and can be escalated to for unresolved or significant correction issues. The corrections desk operates independently within the newsroom to maintain editorial integrity.

How do I report an error?

Readers can report an error by emailing corrections@mediagriduk.uk. Please include the article title, the URL where the error appears, a clear description of what you believe is incorrect, and any supporting sources or evidence. The corrections team also accepts reports via the general contact email info@mediagriduk.uk, but the dedicated corrections address ensures your message reaches the appropriate desk directly. We aim to acknowledge receipt of every correction request within 24 hours during normal working days.

What happens after you receive a correction request?

Our Standards & Fact-Checking Lead, Oliver Reeves, or a member of his desk reviews each request promptly. If the reported error is confirmed as a material mistake — such as a factual inaccuracy, a misquote, or a significant omission — the article is updated and a correction note is appended at the top or bottom of the page. Minor errors, such as typographical mistakes or date corrections, are fixed without a note unless they affect meaning. For all material corrections, the note explains what was originally published, what has been changed, and the date of the correction. The response time for a final decision is typically within three working days, though complex cases may take longer.

What types of corrections do you publish?

Media Grid UK distinguishes between corrections, clarifications, and updates. A correction is published when a material factual error is found in a previously published article. A clarification is used when the original text may be ambiguous or insufficiently precise, but not outright wrong. An update is added to reflect new information that does not invalidate the original content. All three are clearly labelled at the top of the article with a brief explanation. Our fact-checking policy sets out the rigorous verification process applied before publication, and it complements our corrections system by minimising errors from the outset.

Can I escalate a correction if I am not satisfied?

Yes. If you believe a correction was not handled appropriately, or if you have a complaint about the editorial process, you can escalate the matter to the Editor-in-Chief, Jonathan Pierce, at jonathan.pierce@mediagriduk.uk. He will review the case and provide a final response. For formal complaints that go beyond a single correction, Media Grid UK has a separate complaints procedure that covers editorial standards, impartiality, and ethical concerns. Our editorial policy explains the broader standards we apply to all published content.

How does Media Grid UK ensure transparency in corrections?

We believe corrections are an essential part of trustworthy journalism. Every corrected article includes a visible note stating the nature of the change and the date it was made. Where an error has affected the headline, the correction note is also referenced in the URL metadata where technically feasible. Our standards desk maintains an internal log of all corrections for auditing and training purposes. Readers can also contact us via our contact page for further details. We are committed to learning from mistakes and improving our processes, which is why we regularly review correction patterns with the editorial team.
